Democrats put on a show

What a shit show the Democratic members of the U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee are putting on during the first day of the Amy Coney Barrett U.S. Supreme Court justice confirmation hearings.

It's like they all were on a days-long telephone group connection to organize their presentations on the committee.

Nearly every Democrat is following a script, putting up pictures of kids, parents and others who are suffering from severe medical issues and involve extreme expense. There they are, pleading for the Affordable Care Act to remain intact.

The problem is that these arguments are arguments to make on the Senate floor for action for or against health care proposals. It is NOT an argument that has any merit before a judge and justice-nominee.

For a judge, who is dedicated to uphold the U.S. Constitution, is -- or at least should be -- blind as a bat to such arguments, just like the Lady Justice sculpture shows the justice blindfolded.

A justice's decision should be based on the law as written -- and the Constitution as written.

Whether the full court is leaning Democratic or Republican has no bearing on its decisions.  Whether the Affordable Care Act is fair, or protects some people from being isolated from insurance coverage or not has no bearing. The court should be ruling on whether the act is violating the U.S. Constitution or not.

If it is violating the U.S. Constitution, then so be it. It is up to the President and the U.S. Congress to rewrite legislation to help protect you and me in a way that does the act does NOT violate the Constitution.

It is as simple as that.

So, as you can see by the shit show being brought forward by the Democrats at the hearing, they are covering for their failure to be civil to one another of both parties and work together to put out something that is not only Constitutionally legal but fair and protects you and me from excessive abuse by insurance companies or others for that matter.

So the shit show is doing nothing to vet Judge Amy Coney Barrett's qualifications and commitment to interpret the U.S. Constitution as written.
